Children’s Ministry

“Let the little children come to me and do not forbid them; for of such is the Kingdom of God.” Mark 10:14

Goal:  To evangelize and disciple children and to have a powerful impact on future generations.

The class for the 4-11 year olds:  Child Evangelism Fellowship syllabus is being followed for this class for the past 25 years.  Importance is given to attendance as the classes follow a very structured program each week.    The class is divided into 4 sessions:

  1. Singing:  Children learn songs pertaining to the lessons as well as Christian life and growth.
  2. Memory verse:  They are also taught verses to memorize.  At the end of the Academic year which is June, they are tested on their memory verses.
  3. Lesson:  The teacher teaches the lessons from the Child Evangelism Fellowship syllabus every Sunday.  The lesson overview could be divided into, lesson objectives, main teaching, emphasis with visual aids and applications
  4. Lesson Review:  Mainly done through questions.  Every Sunday when the lessons are reviewed the students are graded individually for their answers and involvement and finally awarded for their participation.

At the end of each academic year, children are awarded for best attendance, class participation and scripture memorization.

During Christmas and Easter seasons, they enact skits or dramas and sing special songs to the congregation.  Every year they are made to memorize verses from the Bible

“The Spiritual training of children must be a peculiarly selfless service.  You work for the years you will not see.  You work for the invisible all the time, but you work for the Eternal.  So it is all worthwhile.”  (Amy Carmichael)
